This was a grueling and necessary read. The way you write breaks the heart every time Mohammed, and even that is inadequate. It is sickening just to witness and simply to witness alone feels completely inadequate.

My husband was volunteering in Gaza when Israel destroyed the Rafah crossing last year. He was only there for a few weeks yet lost twenty pounds. It has continuously made me wonder what on earth the slow wasting away is like for those there for months.

Thank you so much for this report. I can barely wrap my head around it, is so horrific. As a person of Jewish descent, it is especially painful knowing that people who call themselves Jews are capable of such sick sadism, dehumanization, torture, murderousness and utter disdain for other humans. Are they even Jews, I wonder? Maybe by being born to parents who descended from those who had Jewish heritage, but in any other way? Do they have the slightest understanding of the Jewish religion, which, let's face it, is the basis of what if means to be Jewish? It seems not. They are the Jewish equivalents of any other religious fundamentalists, who trumpet their religious affiliation for the very purpose of hiding the fact that they not following their religion's precepts at all. They are flouting it completely. Instead of practicing love they are practicing hate. Israel was a terrible mistake and crime from the beginning. It is time for it to end and be replaced by a Palestinian state with equal rights for all, and there must be justice for all Israel's victims!

I didn't read it, I can't. Since Trump said he would take, hold and cherish Gaza, I've devoted myself solely to understanding that declaration. I've sent my thoughts out to many thinkers on Israel-Palestine, from think-tanks, anonymous well-knowns, all with very little response. I've concluded that there is only one avenue forward and that's with the withdrawal of Israel's mandate and the establishment of a UNITED STATES territorial trust for Palestine. I should make that past tense because with Netanyahu's unopposed declaration that Israel will NOT leave Gaza, and Trump's that he's going to stick to business deals only in Bibi's hood, leaves Trump's 2/11 unveiling of his intention to take and hold Palestine, and his subsequent redaction of any intention of ethnically cleansing it, a major addition to the litany of missed opportunities for "peace".

The reason for this post, this blog, this iteration of the genocide of the Palestinian people, is that there wasn't opportunity to negotiate terms for a mutually agreeable partition plan. One which was better than most proposed since but rightly viewed as unfair to the indigenous Palestinian population was imposed by nuke-hurler Harry Truman, when he wouldn't support his own state departments plan for a UN temporary trust of the outgoing British mandated on governance.

Since then there have been renewed calls for that UN territorial trust to be invoked, usually during times of extreme violence, like the 2nd Intifada and last spring, when calls for genocide were ringing in our ears. But I know of only one call to invoke a United States led territorial trust for Palestine and that was from Martin Indyk from 2002 - 2007.

Indyk knew then that a UN trust would be inadequate to provide the necessary security and most importantly, build the crucial Constitutionally mandated division of shared interests between our Congress and the Israeli government's accrued benefits from it's one-upmanship and even worse exploitation of "absolute commitment to the state of Israel" political mantra.

The US led territorial trust establishes both an iron-clad security environment for peace talks and the constitutionally required obligation of our Congress to administer it's trust for Palestine. Add multinational transparency and you have a recipe for successful talks and so very much more.

I'd never trust these conmen AND rich, capitalist crooks! Arming a genocide is what the US/NATO has done. tRump has zero ethics. Project 2025 is being enacted. 3.75 more years to create havoc? I don't think there are enough ETHICAL people with power to stop these fascists.
